Search Your Photo Collection
 |
To look for a specific image, type in a keyword in the search bar at the top of the explorer
tree. FotoFinish will search through image names and any annotations contained in the My Albums
area.
FotoFinish will also prompt you to scan the entire system. The search results will be
marked with a pair of binoculars and the name of the images found will be highlighted
in bold type.

Scan Your System for Images
 |
|
The first time you run the program, FotoFinish will prompt you to scan your hard drive for photos and other
digital images. You can also run this scan at any time by
selecting Find Images on My Computer under the File menu or clicking on Find Images on
the Welcome Dialog.

Initial scan for photos
|
|
|
If you opt for the Auto Search, FotoFinish will scan your local hard drive(s)
for images - your program files, network drives, and any removable media such as CDs
will not be scanned. To select specific folders and drives you want Photo to scan,
simply click on Advanced Search. If you don't want Photo to scan for images,
click Cancel.

Search options
|
|
In the advanced dialog, click on More to specify file types and other conditions for your search.
To start the scan click on the Search button.
Once the scan is complete, you can choose which image folders you want to add
to My Albums at the top of the Image Explorer tree. Image folders under My Albums are
basically links (or shortcuts) to image folders on your system.
The My Albums area allows you easy and convenient access to your images without
having to browse through every folder on your system.
