Digital Dentist: Whiten Teeth
 |
Everyone would like to have a brilliant, sparkling smile. In addition to regular trips to the dentist, you can use
FotoFinish STUDIO or SUITE to touch up existing portraits and whiten teeth.
To whiten the teeth select them using the Polygon Selection Tool . Click down with the mouse where you want your selection to start and continue clicking to add line segments.
To close the selection, double-click. To create a more accurate selection, zoom in and make the line segments shorter by clicking down frequently.
Once the teeth are selected, move them to a separate layer by choosing Add Layer under Layers in the Image menu.
This way you can easily go back to your original, untouched photograph as well as easily modify your selection at any point in the future.
Next, go to the Image menu, choose Adjust Colors, click on More, and
reduce the yellow colors in the selection by moving the slider towards the blue end of the spectrum.
In general, an increase of 10 in the blue-yellow slider
will whiten the teeth but your particular photo might need more or less whitening.
Use the previews to help you decide on the right amount of
whitening.
