Give Someone a Digital Makeover

With FotoFinish STUDIO or SUITE, you can give someone a digital makeover in just a few easy steps. Turn a boring snapshot into an eye-grabbing portrait with easy-to-use editing and touch up tools.

Enhancing the Eyes
One of the easiest ways to enhance any portrait is to make sure that the eyes of your subject are clear and bright. You can do this in your FotoFinish STUDIO (or SUITE) digital darkroom by enhancing the white of the eyes.

To start, zoom in on the picture in question. Select the whites of the eyes using the Polygon Selection Tool or the Magic Wand (feel free to experiment to see which one works better for you).

Once you have one portion selection, hold down the Shift key to create additional selections. To get a uniform adjustment, you should have all the parts selected before doing anything else.

To preserve the original image, copy and paste your selection into a new layer (Image->Layers->Add Layer).

Now, choose Adjust Colors from the Image menu and click on More. Reduce the slight redness by sliding the top color adjustment slider away from the Red.

Next, choose Adjust Exposure from the Image menu and click on More. Slide the brightness slider to the right to brighten the eyes. If you're afraid of overdoing it try clicking on Auto-Exposure. You can always re-adjust the values chosen using the sliders under Brightness and Contrast.

You can help your adjustments blend in by changing the layer's opacity from the layer's tab menu.
