As online dating services become more prevalent, chances are you, or someone
you know, might soon find the need to edit a personal photo in hopes of
capturing the interest of Ms. or Mr. Right.
While this particular mini-tutorial focuses on touching up a
photo for such a service, the techniques discussed can apply
to any photo you want to enhance.
1. Open the photo.
2. Crop to Focus the Image on You. To crop a photo in FotoFinish,

3. Adjust Brightness. If your image is a little underexposed,
it can seem dull and faded. You can bring it back to life using
FotoFinish's Adjust Exposure command under the Image menu. Scroll
through the previews to find the version that looks best to you or click
on More to adjust brightness and contrast manually.

4. Enhance Your Eyes. Your eyes can make you seem more alert and fresh,
and most importantly, more attractive. With FotoFinish, you can zoom in
on your eyes, select just the whites using the Polygon Selection Tool
(or use the Magic Wand), then use the Adjust Colors and Adjust Exposure
commands in the Image menu to make the eyes seem less red and more bright.

5. Whiten Teeth. You can give yourself a brilliant,
sparkling smile by selecting your teeth, choosing Adjust Colors
in the Image menu, clicking on More, and sliding the color
sliders towards blue. Then use the Adjust Exposure command also
under the Image menu to increase the brightness of your
selection. Learn more

Learn to Take Better Pictures Photo Tips and Tricks from FotoFinish

Rule of Thirds
Placing your subject off-center creates an interesting,
dynamic image. Imagine your photograph divided into
three horizontal and vertical sections.
To compose a
well-balanced, off-center shot, place your subject near
the intersections of the imaginary grid lines. This is
called following the rule of thirds.
Most cameras, especially popular point-and-shoot models, focus at
the center point of the viewfinder. To create an off-center image,
start by pointing your camera at your subject so it appears centered, press
the shutter button halfway to focus the image, then without letting go
of the half-depressed shutter recompose the shot by moving your camera and
take the picture by depressing the shutter fully.
